Are these words part of your daily vocabulary?

OVERWHELM

MULTITASKING

We all have multiple roles in life.

What are your roles?

  • Parent

  • Business owner

  • Spouse

  • Employee

  • Caregiver

  • Counselor

  • Coach

  • Partner

  • Teacher

  • CEO

  • Student

  • Leader…..

When you have multiple roles that collide in a given moment, it helps to pause and ask a simple question.

What is the most important role I need to give my attention to right now?

This creates focus and clarity for what is of the highest value in that moment.

When you are able to focus all of your energy in one direction, not only will you be able to produce a better result but you will have more energy for the role and the needed action.

You will feel better about the outcome, when you know you gave it 100%.

This works well for your job, your business or any daily task on your to do list.

It also adds value to your relationships with your family, coworkers and friends and on your weekly date night. This skill is applicable in every area of your life.

When you can stop and decide what needs your full attention at this moment, you can move forward with more confidence and decisiveness.

Instead of thinking about dinner plans at work, or your work when you are helping your kids,

or what you need to do tomorrow, while you are spending time with your partner or a friend…..

Turn your thoughts fully to the moment.

Ask yourself how do I want to show up right now for the activity I committed to for this

time? Am I bringing energy to elevate the effectiveness or the results of this role?

You can view this process as compartmentalization but I like to think of it as my roles.

We all have many roles we fill.

Are you operating in each role in alignment with your core values and who you want to be?

Do your actions line up with your intentions, your commitments and what you value most?

What is your role at this moment?
